Ryan "CASE" MacKeen is a graffiti artist from Toronto, Canada. His 19 years of urban beautification have spread his notoriety across the globe; showing overseas and throughout the United States (including multiple group shows for H.Y.P.E. at The Art Gallery of Ontario; Carmichael Gallery of Contemporary Art in Hollywood, CA ; The Graffiti World exhibit at GO Gallery in Amsterdam; and The Mark Ecko Unlimited Street Art Expo. Most recently, Ryan exhibited his works at the Royal Ontario Museum - one of the most prestigious institutions in Canada.
Ryan has been published in a number of books and periodicals(including Rutgers Journal of Comparative Literature and Graffiti World magazine), as well as being a subject in a variety of documentaries. In addition, Ryan is an award winning director ("Young Guns" award recipient, 2004) and a member of the Art Directors Club of New York, a premier organization for integrated media. Being trained in classical animation, Ryan has merged his graffiti experiences and his studio study into a style that weaves classical and street art together, while continuing to explore the industrial medium of spray paint without traditional boundaries.
Ryan's work on both live action and beautifully animated music videos has been recognized and utilized a by number of recording artists: Eminem, Ice T, The Arcade Fire, Def Jux, The Shins, Mogwai, Nada Surf, The Stills, The Offspring, Our Lady Peace, Megadeth, and The Annuals, to name a few. As an accomplished director, Ryan has been critically acclaimed for his commercial work. Ryan created and executed an award winning marketing campaign for Nike and their shoe, "Presto." He has contributed as key animator for the TV series "Watership Down" and as a storyboard artist for the TV series "For Better for for Worse."
